New historical map

One of our neighbours, Anthony Weale, has been in touch to tell us about a fascinating new historical map of Cambridge that might well be of interest to residents. Published by the Historic Towns Trust in the folding Ordnance Survey format, it shows the development of the city over the centuries up to the 1920s, and incorporates the latest historical and archaeological research. It includes an introduction to the history of the city, and on the reverse, a gazeteer of buildings and streets.

You can buy the map (RRP £10.99) from all good booksellers and online. It will be on display in the foyer of the Central Library, from 11am - 3pm on Thursday 7th December. An excellent Christmas gift for anyone interested in how the city has developed.
