About us
The Hurst Park Estate Residents' Association (HPERA) exists to strengthen our community and to protect and enhance the streetscape and character of the estate. We represent about 420 households in the 7 roads of the estate: Hurst Park, Orchard, Highfield, Highworth and Leys Avenues, Leys Road and Mulberry Close. Membership is free to everyone who lives in our neighbourhood, although we sometimes ask for donations to help with running costs and activities.

We try to inform residents about issues such as development, traffic and parking that we believe will affect us all, and sometimes we take a more active lobbying role if we feel it's necessary. We also try to create stronger community links by offering support to residents during the pandemic and putting on a series of events throughout the year.

The Association is managed by a committee elected under a constitution that was adopted at the inaugural Annual General Meeting on 24th April 2016. You can find our June 2020 strategy review here.

Meet the committee
Andrew Milbourn
I’ve lived in Leys Avenue for over 30 years. Most of my work was grappling with IT systems and operations, latterly at Cambridge Assessment. I retired officially 3 years ago although I do some lecturing for Amity University. I now spend more time on sailing, environmental issues and photography.
Sophie Musson
I’ve worked in communications and PR, helping to manage the reputation of public and private companies, for over 20 years. I advise senior staff on crisis communications. I've been a Cambridge resident since 1993.

Yung-Chin Oei
I'm a physicist turned software developer. We've lived in the area since 2017 - loving it! - and have three children enjoying the local school.
Michael Page
I started my career in Cambridge in technical sales/marketing with scientific instrument companies. Later became General Manager/Director of businesses that developed magnetic components and systems for aerospace, automotive and reprographics industries. Now happily retired.

Barbara Thomas
I started as an EFL teacher but spent the rest of my working life as an editor and writer in English language teaching for Cambridge University Press and Cambridge Assessment. Now retired, I am enjoying being more involved with the community through HPERA.
Nicky Webb
I've worked as a creative producer and communications consultant, and have held a variety of senior roles in arts organisations. For 12 years I ran Artichoke, a company that produces large scale arts events and festivals. I'm now enjoying using my project management skills to help people renovate their houses!
Tony Willoughby
I'm an independent IT consultant, specialising in project management, business analysis and training. I also enjoy rowing and playing tennis (in a very amateur fashion).
